The head of European diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, acknowledged that it is increasingly difficult to preserve the pact reached with Tehran, but stressed that all parties committed to “continue all efforts”

The European representative declined to comment on attempts led by France to negotiate between the United States and Iran, but welcomed all efforts to "open channels of dialogue."

The European powers, which initially moved quickly to try to preserve the nuclear agreement after the breakup by the United States, have begun in recent weeks to distance themselves more and more from Iran

The Persian country, beaten by US sanctions, began violating the pact this summer in response to Washington's measures and has accused Europe of not doing enough to counter Donald Trump's government measures.

The tension has skyrocketed recently with attacks against oil refineries in Saudi Arabia, an action for which both the US and Germany, France and the United Kingdom have held the Iran regime accountable.

Rohani refuses to negotiate with the US

The Iranian president ruled out on Wednesday to sit down and talk to the United States as long as he did not withdraw his sanctions and insisted that Iran will not negotiate with "an enemy who wants Iran to bow down using weapons of poverty and pressure." "I would like to announce that our response to any negotiation under sanctions is negative," said the head of state in his speech to the UN General Assembly.

He indicated, for his part, that in order for there to be a dialogue, Washington must return to its commitments under the nuclear agreement negotiated in 2015.

"Abandon the sanctions to open the way to negotiations," Rohani said in response to Trump's willingness to meet and the attempts of the French resident, Emmanuel Macron, to encourage that historic meeting.

The United Nations Organization (UN) was created 74 years ago to seek peace. Many times, however, it resembles more a quadrilateral of verbal pugilism - the physicist leaves it for Syria or Yemen, less glamorous than New York -, in which one and the other are left at ease.

"I come from a country that has resisted the most ruthless economic terrorism," Iranian President Hasan Rohani accused the United States yesterday from the General Assembly stage.

This is how it started after fulfilling the ritual of thanking God. It is more than a common place to invoke the Almighty to draw fire from hell.

The Iranian leader argues that the Persian Gulf will only be pacified if US troops go home

“Our region is on the verge of collapse, a simple spark can trigger a great fire. We will not tolerate the provocative intervention of foreigners, ”continued Rohani, who ruled out any approach to Washington in the circumstances that occur at this time.

"I want to announce that our response to any negotiation under sanctions is negative," he said.
"The Government and people of Iran have stood firm against the toughest sanctions over the past year and a half and we will never negotiate with an enemy that pursues Iran's surrender with the weapon of poverty, pressure and sanctions." he insisted.

According to the president of the Islamic Republic, this punishment is only intended to deprive his country of the advantages of participating in the global economy. Therefore, the White House "has resorted to international piracy through the misuse of the banking system."

President Donald Trump had shown his willingness to talk. But only 24 hours before, and after accusing Iranian leaders of having “lust in the blood” and being the promoters of international terrorism on that same stage, he declared that the elements for that meeting did not yet exist.

Rohani replied that if he wanted a diplomatic exit, the US It must return to the nuclear agreement signed in 2015. "It is difficult to negotiate with someone fleeing from treaties and pacts," he said. Instead, he reiterated that the US government has opted "for the silent murder of a great nation and pressuring the lives of 83 million Iranians."

He warned that his patience is exhausted and warned that "we have never surrendered to aggression or foreign impositions." Thus, the "only way will be that of dignity, pride and national strength."
Not only did he reproach the Americans for turning the agreements into wet paper. He also disqualified Europeans for their inability to bring it to an end.
He advocated pacifying the Middle East and ensuring navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and in the Persian Gulf through a work between neighbors, which he called "the coalition of hope."

The security of Saudi Arabia, recently hit by an attack on its oil production and whose suspicion falls on Tehran, will only be guaranteed if the aggression against Yemen ends and not with the interference of other nations, he reiterated.

"The security of the region provided by US troops must cease," he said. “Security cannot be achieved with weapons and the intervention of America. The United States, after 18 years, has failed to reduce terrorist acts, ”he insisted.
