as of today Iowa's 13 has officially gone live it should be available to download on your device as of now and you can check by going into your settings going into general and then going into software update if it isn't there yet it might just be because Apple is slow or your device could be unsupported so check the description for all of the supported devices if your Apple device is on the list below you should be able to download the Iowa's 13 update or if you're on iPad iPad OS hey how's it going I'm Joshua from 91 tech and with the launch of iOS 13 I thought we'd quickly go over some of the new features and determine whether or not it's worth it for you to update your phone.

now in the past I've been pretty skeptical when it comes to iOS launches and I've often waited at least a week to jump on board and see if there are any huge bugs generally iOS updates do go pretty smoothly iOS 11 is a notable outlier but 12 is great and most iterations also have been pretty decent that being said I was 13 as an update that you might not want to wait for for one reason more an emoji I kid it's dark mode we all want dark mode except for a couple of crazies here and there dark

mode is gorgeous whether you're on the iPhone se or the iPhone 11 it really can't be beat dark iMessage dark App Store dark Safari dark everything really dark mode just looks amazing especially on OLED devices if you have an iPhone 10 10s or 11 Pro but it'll look great on your LCD phones like this one as well don't get me wrong but yeah dark mode is great but let's be real here not everyone is going to be as crazy about dark mode as me so is there other reasons to update well yes and no the truth is I was 13 really isn't a giant update even if dark mode makes it seem like it it's really not that much

different from 12 and there are some bugs I'm still finding on the gold master beta here which is the version you'll all get when iOS 13 launches so it isn't just cut and dry of whether or not you should update if you really want dark mode go ahead and update yes there are gonna be some bugs but they're not gonna like kill you or anything but there might be some other reasons you don't want to update for example if your jailbroken there might eventually be a jailbreak for iOS 13 but who knows how long that could take so if your jailbroken right now don't update there's always the fear of everything slowing down that's happened in the past with iOS updates and I can very happily say that the iPhone se feels exactly the same it really hasn't slowed down for me

the first few betas were a bit sluggish but the more recent ones that really picks things up it feels really great to me it honestly feels like a whole new phone because of that dark mode and by the way if you do download I was 13 and are wondering how to get dark mode it's super simple just swipe up the control center long press on the brightness and then right there where it says appearance dark or light depending on what mode you're in just tap it and it will toggle it again dark mode it's the biggest feature of iOS 13 but it isn't the only feature so let's go over some of the other features we have a feature that androids have had for a long time which is a swipeable keyboard this allows you to type

swiping across the keyboard it's pretty neat you were able to do it before if you downloaded a custom keyboard but this is pretty cool to Apple of speeding up devices again supposedly which is neat launching an app can be up to twice as fast according to Apple and face ID is also 30% faster app downloads tend to

be significantly smaller battery life is also being tackled by Apple your day to day performance might not be any better

but I was 13 we'll learn from your daily charging routine so it can wait to charge past 80% until you need it so for example if you plug in your phone overnight and get up at 6 a.m. your phone might waits until 5 a.m. to continue charging your phone past 80% this will help prevent battery degradation which means your battery will do better in the long run the reminders app has been completely rebuilt which will appeal to some people

I know I use reminders a lot so I appreciate this Siri apparently sounds less robotic and more natural than she used to she's still not great but I do think she sounds better hey Siri when do the Canucks play I mean it's definitely better MIMO Gees are getting more accessories like makeup and hats so there's that a big feature is sign-in with Apple which is interesting you've probably seen the sign-in with Google and sign in with Facebook buttons before this will do the same thing but be from Apple what's cool is that if you don't want to use your actual email for the account Apple will come up with a unique

random email for you so that'll help with privacy alright so there's a fair few more so let's just run through some of them the volume indicator is finally on the side thank goodness Apple maps are getting better the mail app is better at formatting text you can connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth from the control center you're able to connect Xbox and ps4 controllers to your device you can silence unknown colors there is more and I probably missed something that was kind of big but those are the highlights at least to me I was 13 is a fairly typical rework of iOS it doesn't make it a whole lot better but it does

improve on the existing experience dark mode will make things feel completely different at least for a little while and I honestly think it's worth updating just for that there are going to be bugs and if you're concerned about that I would wait about two weeks or so Apple is pretty good with fixing them quickly so yeah two weeks if you really want to make sure you don't get hit with any pretty bad bugs but otherwise I

would say that it's fine to jump aboard today I mean dark money cocky with that I was 13 builds on the foundation of iOS 12 really well and with features like dark mode it's hard to not want to update so let me know what you think though in the comments down below do you think I was 13 is a good update are you going to be using dark mode I should hope the answer
