David Schwimmer became a Hollywood sensation while acting as the adorable paleontologist Ross Geller in the comedy Friends. The program was not only a great opportunity in his career, but his fame opened many doors to new challenges.
A decade and a half after that emotional final episode, Schwimmer's career is nothing more than a shadow compared to his castmates. Why? what happened? Here we explain it to you. While many celebrities would love to have David Schwimmer's fame and class, he was not so excited about this idea.

Schwimmer chose to stay behind the scenes for a while. Since then, he has directed two feature films called Run Fatboy Run and Trust, and episodes of Little Britain USA and Joey, the sequel to Friends of Matt LeBlanc that failed.

And although he made some small screen appearances, it was very demanding when it came to committing to anything in the long term. Even in those projects in which Schwimmer put all his efforts, his work went unnoticed. For example, his first post-Friends project, Duane Hopwood, of 2005, was a feature film with very good reviews of his work.
But the independent film only had a limited premiere after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. His first big screen success would come with Madagascar in 2005, but there it was heard and not seen. Schwimmer was further distanced from Hollywood when he returned to his first love: the theater.

In 2005, he made his debut, starring in a man who is about to marry in the comedy Some Girl (s) by Neil LaBute. He told The Independent: And really yes, some critics felt that his performance was so similar to that of his comedy that the role made no sense.

But Schwimmer continued his stage work, making his Broadway debut at The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial in 2006, appearing in Our Town in Chicago in 2009, and even doing Off-Broadway with Detroit in 2012.

AMC's Feed the Beast marked Schwimmer's first starring role on TV from Friends and there we saw him as Tommy Moran, an alcoholic widower, father and restaurant owner who is suddenly involved in a criminal network.
And although the series allowed the actor to show his dramatic skills, he failed to excite the audience enough to win a second season. But perhaps the early cancellation of this program was a blessing in disguise, because his next role really brought Schwimmer back to the world of pop culture.

In 2016, Schwimmer played one of O.J.'s lawyers. Simpson, Robert Kardashian, in the History of the American Crime of FX, full of stars, called: The people against O.J. Simpson His performance was not only chillingly accurate and entertaining, but it also earned him his second Emmy nomination. So, as long as Schwimmer is still busy directing theater projects and starring in short films, we'll still see him out there.
